About Me
Hi, I'm Luís Moniz. Welcome to my personal portfolio website.
Since I was little that I have an extreme passion for all kinds of technology, mainly computers.
I had my first computer (based on Windows 98) and videogame console (started with a Sega Mega Drive and jumped to a PlayStation 2 some time after) at a very young age, so it's easy to understand my passion for computer hardware and digital games.
Currently, I'm fullfiling my dream of developing my own games with focus on the
programming
side
of things, but I can also do a little of artistic stuff.
I am also a Web Developer, but my main focus lies in everything related to Game Development.
I can do several multimedia related stuff and I'm an aspiring Game Designer.
My greatest objective in my professional life is to be the best
Full-Stack Game Developer I can be since I enjoy everything going from Programming, Art,
Project Management, to any kinds of multimedia Production, be it image, video and/or
sound design!

Confidence Description
I know my way around some programming languages like Java, C# and PHP. Currently trying to learn C++.
I can also code HTML, CSS and JavaScript and I already tried some Web Frameworks like the first version of AngularJS, did some web applications for an internship using JHipster and I have some basic experience with MySQL.
I started my serious programming life with Java, but it was Unreal Engine Game Development that really helped me develop the programming logic I have today.
I learned almost everything I know of Unreal Engine all by myself and I'm currently attending an Undergraduate Course in Games and Multimedia at ESTG - IPLeiria so I can master this tool and be a better Game Developer!
I learned C# with Unity. It was with this game engine that I sharpened my OOP skills while applying them to a game development context. Currently I'm confortable enough in developing any kind of 2D Game Project with Unity, but my 3D skills shine better on Unreal Engine.
I can also do some stuff with Adobe Photoshop. I have used Photo Mashing techniques to create/edit scenarious and characters and I also developed some projects with Digital Painting as their base.
I have used Adobe Illustrator to develop many vector images like icons, Logos and many random User Interface elements for use in games.
I use Autodesk Maya for 3D modelling and 3D Content Creation with intentions to expand my 3D Development to Blender.
For sound design and editing I can use Adobe Audition. I also intend to further improve my FL Studio knowledge since one of my focus is Sound Production.
I'm also a technology enthusiast at heart and I like to be up to date, mainly, with the latest in computer hardware. I have a course in IT and as such I help my family and friends troubleshooting problems in their computers and I have an extreme passion for building computers and setups in general.
